VACCINATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SHOW
The
show is subject to the vaccination instructions approved by the Finnish
Kennel Club. The organizers are obliged to inspect vaccination
certificates for all participating dogs. All dogs participating in the
Show or trial must have a valid certificate of vaccination against
distemper and rabies.
Distemper vaccinations
The dog must be
vaccinated at least twice against distemper and a minimum of two weeks
must have expired between the second (booster) vaccine and the Show or
trial. Vaccinations for dogs less than one year old are valid for one
year. Booster vaccinations for dogs over one year old are valid for two
years and no precautionary period is required. If a distemper
vaccination has expired it must be renewed at the latest two weeks
before the Show or trial (two weeks precautionary period).
Rabies vaccination
A
minimum of two weeks must have expired between the dog's first rabies
vaccination and the Show or competition. Rabies vaccinations are valid
for one year, if given to a dog that is less than one year old.
However, rabies vaccinations are only valid for one year in the case of
dogs taking part in ferreting trials or hunting. If rabies vaccination
has expired it must be renewed at the latest two weeks before showing
or competition (two weeks precautionary period).
Regulations related to infectious diseases:
If
a dog falls ill with distemper, infectious hepatitis, kennel cough or
similar respiratory infection, parvo diarrhoea or other inflammatory
bowel disease, the dog is not allowed to participate in shows or
competitions before it has been free of any symptoms for at least two
weeks. In addition, it is recommended that dogs within the same
household comply with same precautionary period.
External and
internal parasites should be treated accordingly before the dog is
allowed to participate in shows, competitions and trials.
All
the dogs that are participating at the show must be microchipped with
either Indexel/Lifechip- or Datamars microchips, or they should be
tattooed. If the dog is microchipped with other than Indexel/Lifechip
or Datamars microchip, the exhibitor must bring a scanner.
